As of April 30, Turkish citizens can visit Leros, Lemnos, Kalymnos, Kastellorizo, and Symi islands with a visa on arrival, in addition to the Chios, Kos, Lesvos, Rhodes, and Samos, VisaGuide.World reports.
This special visa program, which launched on April 1 with five islands, is part of an agreement signed in December 2023 between the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to an earlier report by the SchengenVisaInfo, Greek authorities introduced such a scheme in an effort to terminate the years-long strained ties with Türkiye.

The visa on arrival allows Turkish citizens to visit the above-mentioned islands for up to seven days, one entry.
Priced at 60€, these types of visas are issued at designated ports all year round. According to the Greek PM, this measure stimulates tourism in regions and during periods with lower visitor numbers, thereby helping the local economies.
Moreover, Greek officials have underscored that the visa on arrival doesn’t constitute “a free visa system,” explaining that Greece will issue express visas to Turkish citizens at the designated islands.
This means that Turkish citizens holding single-entry visas are not allowed to travel to other countries within the Schengen Zone. To prevent any violations, Greece cautioned about strict police inspections.
